Homemade Tahini

Tahini is a popular sauce used in middle eastern cuisine. Here is an easy homemade recipe. Enjoy the powerful nutrition benefits of sesame seeds with your family with this easy recipe!

About 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of white sesame seeds (hulled)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ tsp Himalayan or sea salt (optional)

Directions:

  • Toast the sesame seeds over low heat in a saucepan, stirring consistently until slightly golden brown
  • Once done let the sesame seeds cool
  • In a food processor blend the sesame seeds adding the olive oil gradually to attain a smooth consistency
  • Pour in a bottle with lid and keep in the fridge. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3-4 weeks.

Notes:

Enjoy your tahini as a dip or sauce with your favorite salads, falafels, toast, or anything you fancy. You can use it to make your hummus too!
