When you have the urge for snacking or feel the need to eat something in-between meals or perhaps just a craving for something sweet but are avoiding added sugars and junk snacks, here is a recipe full of healthy nuts and natural sweetness of dates. Dates have the added benefits of being high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. These balls will provide you with abundant healthy fats and antioxidant punch from superfoods like cinnamon and ginger.

Making Time

15 minutes

Yields

12 Servings

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup of pitted dates
  • ½ cup of almonds
  • ¼ cup of walnuts or cashews
  • ½ tsp of vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp of powdered cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp of powdered ginger
  • ¼ tsp of sea salt

Directions:

  • Add all the ingredients to a food processor and blend into a sticky consistency
  • Transfer the contents from the food processor into a bowl and then make 12 balls
  • Keep in the freezer or fridge for a short while until well set and firm to serve

Notes:

The energy balls can be stored in the fridge for a week when kept inside an airtight container and for a longer duration when placed inside the freezer.

Cinnamon and ginger powder can be replaced with drops of essential oils. For cinnamon just one drop is sufficient. You can try more essential oil flavors like orange sweet, lemon, etc. The essential oil must be 100% pure
